Мне, члену бюро Ростовского обкома ВЛКСМ, (в то время я проходил службу в должности помощника начальника политуправления Северо-Кавказского военного округа по комсомольской работе) посчастливилось быть делегатом съезда от Ростовской областной комсомольской организации. Перед отъездом в столицу СССР 75 делегатов ростовской делегации во главе с первым секретарём обкома комсомола Юрием Дергаусовым напутствовал участник Великой Отечественной войны, член ЦК КПСС, первый секретарь Ростовского обкома партии, Герой Социалистического Труда Иван Афанасьевич Бондаренко.</strong></p>
<p>В Москве делегатов разместили в лучшей по тем временам  столичной гостинице «Россия». В нашей делегации находился лётчик-космонавт, Герой Советского Союза полковник Юрий Романенко. Примечательно, что известие об избрании делегатом он получил на земной орбите, когда  в качестве командира корабля «Союз-26» вместе бортовым инженером Георгием Гречко выполнял трёхмесячный космический полёт, пристыковавшись к орбитальной станции «Салют-6». Юрия Викторовича в делегаты Дона посвятили в донского казака, вручив ему казачью шашку, яловые сапоги, штаны с лампасами, фуражку с алым  околышем и рубаху-косоворотку. </p>
<p>25 апреля 1978 г. XVIII съезд ВЛКСМ – начал свою работу. Почти пять тысяч комсомольцев – лучшие из лучших представителей рабочей и сельской молодёжи, молодых учёных и инженеров, работников искусства и учителей, медиков и  студентов воинов армии и флота – собрались в Кремлевском Дворце съездов, чтобы подвести итоги четырёхлетней работы комсомола, рапортовать партии и народу о своих патриотических делах, трудовых успехах в коммунистическом строительстве. Вспоминаю, с каким патриотическим подъёмом мы встали в едином порыве, когда перед началом съезда под звуки марша в зал  вносили Красное Знамя Ленинского комсомола и  памятные Знамёна ЦК РКП(б) и КПСС. С первых минут работы этого молодёжного форума вспомнились замечательные слова известного советского поэта-песенника, лауреата  Всемирных фестивалей молодёжи и студентов Льва Ошанина:</p>
<p><em>Те, кто тревог не боится,<br />
Кто сердцем дорогу нашёл,<br />
Кто смело к победе стремится, –<br />
Такие идут в комсомол… </em></p>
<p>С огромным воодушевлением восприняли делегаты яркую, вдохновляющую речь  на съезде Генерального секретаря ЦК КПСС, Председателя Президиума Верховного Совета СССР Леонида Ильича Брежнева. Он всесторонне проанализировал деятельность комсомола, как своего надёжного резерва и помощника, открыл перед ВЛКСМ новые горизонты практического участия в коммунистическом строительстве. «Боевая программа каждого комсомольца, каждого молодого человека нашей страны, – отмечал Л.И. Брежнев, –  овладевать бессмертным ленинским наследием, глубоко изучать теорию революционной борьбы, теорию и политику партии. Каждый молодой ленинец должен быть активным политическим бойцом, способным на деле проводить политику партии и вести непримиримую борьбу с враждебной идеологией».</p>
<p>С отчётным докладом от многомиллионной армии комсомола выступил первый секретарь ЦК ВЛКСМ Борис Пастухов. В обсуждении доклада приняли участие: каменщица треста «Тындатрансстрой» Амурской области Т.А. Васина, первый секретарь Ленинградского обкома ВЛКСМ А.Н. Корякин, старшая пионервожатая средней школы  имени В.И. Ленина г. Ульяновска Т.Д. Лобанова, главный редактор газеты «Комсомольская правда» Ганичев В.Н., начальник Главного политического управления СА и ВМФ генерал армии Епишев А.А., инструктор по спорту ЦСКА, заслуженный мастер спорта СССР И.К. Роднина, мастер производственного обучения технического училища №17 города Гомеля Н.Ю. Марецкая и другие. В своих выступлениях делегаты выразили сердечную благодарность КПСС за повседневную заботу о подрастающем поколении, за мудрое руководство комсомолом, отеческое внимание к молодёжи.</p>
<p>Ярким и эмоциональным было на съезде выступление  первого секретаря ЦК ЛКСМ Белоруссии К.М. Платонова. Константин Михайлович в белорусском комсомоле – личность легендарная: в Витебске он за 10 лет прошёл большой комсомольский путь от  инструктора обкома до первого секретаря Витебского областного комитета, а через 10 лет стал первым секретарем ЦК комсомола республики. Он по праву называл себя воспитанником и соратником кандидата в члены Политбюро, первого секретаря Центрального Комитета КПБ Петра Мироновича Машерова.  «Комсомольцы БССР, – отметил на съезде лидер белорусской молодёжи Константин Платонов, – всегда рядом с коммунистами в авангарде всенародного социалистического соревнования, инициаторов важнейших починов и начинаний, ставших массовым движением комсомольско-молодёжных коллективов Беларуси. Яркое и убедительное доказательство верности молодого поколения БССР идеалам коммунизма, заветам Ленина, делу Коммунистической партии – массовое движение «Пятилетке эффективности и качества – энтузиазм и творчество молодых!». </p>
<p>На съезде выступило немало представителей зарубежных делегаций. Особенно запомнились деловые выступления генерального секретаря ЦК Федерации коммунистической молодёжи Аргентины Хорхе Перейры, первого секретаря Центрального Совета Союза Свободной немецкой молодёжи (ГДР) Эгона Кренца, секретаря Национального Комитета Союза  молодых коммунистов Кубы Альберта Родригеса Аруфе и других.<br />
Завершающий день съезда было посвящено работе по секциям – «Комплексный подход к воспитанию молодёжи в духе коммунистической идейности и нравственности», «Комсомол и воспитание молодых специалистов», «Организационно-политическое укрепление комсомольских организаций. Индивидуальная работа с молодёжью» и других.  Мне довелось участвовать в секции «Физическое и военно-патриотическое воспитание молодёжи. Комсомол и Советские Вооружённые Силы», которая проходила в Центральном Доме Советской Армии под руководством видного советского военачальника, члена ЦК  КПСС, Героя Советского Союза,  Главнокомандующего Сухопутными войсками – заместителя Министра обороны СССР  генерала армии И.Г. Павловского. Комсомольские работники Сухопутных войск  обсудили вопросы повышения боевитости армейских организаций ВЛКСМ по вовлечению молодых солдат, сержантов, прапорщиков и офицеров  в соревнование за мастерское владение техникой и оружием, рост отличников боевой и политической подготовки, классных специалистов и спортсменов-разрядников. На секции состоялся также предметный разговор об участии воинских коллективов в оборонно-массовой работе, пропаганде среди допризывной молодежи героической истории Советских Вооруженных Сил, славных боевых традиций советского народа. </p>
<p>Запоминающимися остались также события – посещение Мавзолея В.И. Ленина, спортивно-театрализованное представление в Лужниках, концерт мастеров искусств в Кремлёвском Дворце съездов,  встречи с космонавтами, писателями, артистами, выдающимися советскими спортсменами, экскурсии в Звёздный городок, Третьяковскую галерею, на  ВДНХ СССР. Помнится и ещё одно событие: проводы большой группы делегатов, решивших поехать на строительство Байкало-Амурской магистрали, главную комсомольскую стройку того времени.</p>
<p>На творческом вечере народной артистки СССР, лауреата Государственной премии СССР  и премии Ленинского комсомола композитора Александры Пахмутовой «Главное, ребята, сердцем не стареть!» в исполнении известных артистов Советского Союза прозвучали песни «Не расстанусь с комсомолом», «Орлята учатся летать!», «И вновь продолжается бой»  и другие. Не могу до сих пор передать тех чувств, когда делегаты в Кремлёвском Дворце съездов в едином порыве вместе с хором  Академического ансамбля песни и пляски Советской Армии имени А. В. Александрова и популярным солистом Львом Лещенко исполняли песню «Только так победим!»:</p>

Слышишь юности голос мятежный,<br />
Слышишь голос заводов и сёл:<br />
Ленин, Партия, Комсомол!</em></p>
<p>Съезд с новой силой и убедительностью продемонстрировал монолитную сплочённость Ленинского комсомола вокруг Коммунистической партии Советского Союза, готовность советской молодёжи всегда и во всём следовать заветам великого Ленина, делу Октября, умножать славу и могущество любимой Родины. В дни работы съезда мы с особой отчётливостью почувствовали, что труд молодёжи необходим Родине, которая по заслугам оценивает вклад в развитие страны рабочего и колхозника, врача и инженера, шахтёра и агронома, защитника Отечества. Съезд комсомола памятен и тем, что на нём мне в числе других делегатов вручили высокую награду ВЛКСМ нагрудный знак «Воинская доблесть», который я с гордостью ношу до сих пор на парадном офицерском кителе.</p>
<p>…Вот уже несколько десятилетий минуло с тех памятных лет. В январе 2015 г. мне, тогда помощнику директора Белорусского государственного музея истории Великой Отечественной войны, довелось принять участие в работе 42-го съезда Белорусского республиканского союза молодежи, проходившего в столичном Дворце Республики. Выступивший на съезде Президент Республики Беларусь А.Г. Лукашенко подчеркнул, что Беларусь – одно из немногих государств, где молодёжному движению уделяется особое внимание. По мнению Главы государства, ответственность, самостоятельность, инициатива должны стать главными чертами поколения молодежи, а вместе с ним – и всей страны.  </p>
<p>Видя добрые и полезные дела белорусской молодёжи, можно с уверенностью сказать, что наша молодёжная организация востребована, пользуется уважением в обществе и является надёжным партнёром государства в деле построения сильной и процветающей Беларуси. Нынешняя молодёжь достойно продолжает славную эстафету старшего поколения, так, как об этом сказано в «Песне о тревожной молодости»: «Забота у нас такая, забота наша простая: жила бы страна родная – и нету других забот!». </p>
